Planes - Review

I've been looking forward to Planes for a while now and it wasn't bad. Nothing special but nothing particularly bad about it either. All the voice actors do a serviceable job in their roles. The villain is your stereotypical big shot racer who is afraid of anyone taking his title away. I've seen this villain before but he made me laugh which is all you can really ask for in a movie like this. The humor doesn't consist of constant fart jokes. Lots of the jokes are in there for the adults and teenagers which the little ones might miss. I like when animated movies are able to do that. The place where Planes exceeds is the animation! The landscapes of the world are breathtaking and the musical score is really well done Overall this was an enjoyable time. Do you have to rush out to the nearest theatre to watch it? Not at all. Is is a good movie to watch with your kids, I'd say yes. It's harmless and who knows, it might inspire some little ones to become pilots some day.
