Full Metal Jacket - Review

This is why I love going through the old "501 Must-See Movies Book" and picking out a movie that you have never seen before. It finally allowed me to watch Full Metal Jacket! Boy, do I love this movie! While people going into it expecting a bullet-storm-fest may be disappointed, but this movie tackles the subject of the marines turning boys into trained psychopathic, de-humanized killing machines. It's an uncomfortable movie to watch for sure, but Stanley Kubrick's direction, great performances, especially from Vincent D'Onofrio and Lee Ermey, and that classic chilling tone that Kubrick knows only so well, this is a movie that will leave a lasting impact on ya for a very long time!
