Homefront - Review

I am shocked how much I like this movie. Going into it, I thought this was just going be a mindless shoot 'em up that just happens to take place in New Orleans. What I got was a gripping Drama with about 20 minutes of action altogether and when it occurs, the action is so kick-ass. Jason Statham is moving up in my "Favourite Action Stars" list and he is great here. I would love to see him in a dramatic role because I really think he can pull it off. James Franco made a great meth tweaker and reminded me of Trevor from GTA V. Kate Bosworth is great here as well and should be in more things because she deserves it. I can't honestly think of another film that she is in, but I can't lie, she did a good job. I feel bad for this movie because I know that people will just shove it aside and dismiss it as 'just another dumb action movie'. I saw this film with my grandmother in the theatre and she loved it. If that doesn't say something, I don't know what does. I went it with fairly low expectations though, but this film blew those expectations out of the water. Not a bad rental.
