If you have children and think that they are not yet old enough to watch the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, this is a nice alternative. As a 10-year-old, this was the most epic movie in cinematic history. Keep in mind that I hadn't seen Star Wars yet. I remember going on a field trip in Grade 5 to our local movie theatre to watch this. Coming back to class and finishing another hour of math seemed impossible. My friends and I just wanted to leave and pretend we were in the battle of Narnia out on our big school soccer fields. So as a kid, this movie was absolutely epic, as an adult, not so much. However, I can still appreciate the fantasy elements of Narnia that are so appealing to people like little 10-year-old me. As magical as Harry Potter? Nope. Plain and simple. But like I said before, this is a nice alternative for Lord of the Rings. The battles scenes are just as epic and the world is just as magical, it's just that our heroes are children, instead of Hobbits. Excitement and adventure lies just beyond that old wardrobe. Check it out!
