Django Unchained - Review

In my opinion, Django Unchained is a bit overrated. I love the over the top violence of the shootouts and the cast (Especially Christoph Waltz) is fantastic! However, it started wickedly entertaining but for some reason, it lost traction and got kinda boring. Not too sure why. It's one of those things where the acting is good, the filmmaking is really well done and the story is interesting enough not to turn it off, but for whatever reason, you start to think, "Okay, let's pick it up here. Enough talking." Especially since this is a Tarantino movie. His films thrive on dialogue. Maybe it was just the state I watched it in where I was bored during some of the dialogue scenes in the middle of the film. State of mind not a state like California or Nevada or whatever. I will give it this though, it has an amazing soundtrack. So if you've never seen a Tarantino movie before and are just going into this movie on the poster or trailer alone, know that this is not an action movie, it's a "talking" movie. If you feel like a movie about a free slave taking revenge in Antebellum era United States South would interest you, give it a shot. Just know that this movie is fairly slow, but with one or two extremely violent moments. Not bad but I'd rather watch Tarantino's Pulp Fiction or Inglorious Basterds over this. I would like to give this film another shot though. Maybe my opinion might change. Stay tuned!
