Mission: Impossible III - Review

For some strange reason, every time I boarded an airplane from 2006 to 2009, this film was available to watch during the flight. I remember my dad always getting excited to watch it again, however, I never saw it. Then in 2015, before the 5th film, Rogue Nation, came out, I decided to finally give this film a shot! After watching it, not only was I excited for the newest film in the franchise to come out that summer, but I was also looking forward to seeing what JJ Abrams would do with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Mission: Impossible III showed me that JJ Abrams could direct a fun action packed adventure. Tom Cruise is awesome as always and the chemistry is great between him and his team (especially Simon Pegg who is only in the film for a brief moment). Although the action scenes may not have been as over the top as the 2nd film in the franchise, there are some pretty intense action scenes. What really stands out about this film is Phillip Seymour Hoffman. This was the first time where I felt that an Academy Award winning performance was in one of these films. He is extremely menacing. As for the plot, this one was the easiest to understand and easiest to follow. I'll have to admit, it was a nice change of pace to finally know what was going on and really have a firm grasp on the story. From this moment on, the Mission: Impossible films would keep getting better and better. I know many people do not like this entry or believe it's the weakest in the franchise, but in my eyes, this was an entertaining promise that from here on out, these film would continue to become more entertaining! A great watch!
