The Duff - Review

This is a perfect example of a film that started off so boring and cliche and quickly gained momentum and ended up being pretty good. So what we have here is a sub-par version of Mean Girls, Clueless, & Easy A all mixed together. Like all those films, they have a really good leading character in Bianca. She knocks it out of the park with her comedic timing and she has great chemistry with the "dumb jock" Wesley. Although some of the jokes miss but most of them hit pretty well. The biggest annoyance with the movie is the hot girl of the school. So unrealistically cruel with cringeworthy dialogue. I mean, if someone used some of her cheesy insults in an actual high school, I don't think people will think she is homecoming queen material. In the end, not the best movie in the world but it was entertaining and I had a fun time. Most of the jokes made me laugh and I left the theatre with a smile on my face.
