She's All That - Review

When I ask people, "What is a teen movie that comes to mind?" Many people respond with American Pie and She's All That. So obviously, this movie has a fanbase. So, I decided to watch She's All That and I was genuinely entertained. I watched it again years later and didn't laugh at as many jokes but I still found myself entertained. I will tell you right off the bat though that the story is extremely barebones and fairly predictable. However, you might not be able to fault the movie for this because this plot was done to death after this film, not so much before. This film was "ahead" of the times in that regard. I use that term lightly. What I like about this film is that the two main characters actually do have chemistry. I could see the popular jock and the weird art kid fall in love, at least in this circumstance because their conversations actually seem real. I also love the late 90's with their terrible fashion sense and funky soundtracks and this film acts as a perfect time capsule for that time period. It was a simpler time and I only got to experience the gist of it being born in 1995. Overall, if you are a big fan of the American Pie, Clueless, 10 Things I Hate About You or any type of teen movie like that, this film is right up your alley. Don't expect anything special, just expect to smile in some certain points and walk away satisfied.

RIP - Paul Walker.
