Don Jon - Review

This film acts as a great look at relationships nowadays where both parties have unrealistic views of how a relationship should work. Women want all the romance of a cheesy rom-com and men want all the crazy sex they see in porn. Obviously, it's not that black and white, but it shows how relationships can be one-sided. However, this movie isn't a depressing drama about how hard relationships can be and the inner turmoil that can occur in someone, it's very funny. Obviously, this story being told from a guy's perspective makes it more relatable to me, however both men and women can get a kick out of the humour and understand the relationship struggles. Every guy and every girl have had drunk conversations with their friends about why they recently broke up with their girl/boyfriend. Take all those stories and put it into one movie and you have Don Jon. This movie is both funny and heart-warming with a great cast, especially Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the lead. A good late-night watch!
