Thor: The Dark World - Review

So for the first half-hour of this movie, it felt a little flat. All the exposition of the universe in darkness and stuff, blah, blah, blah. I didn't care about who the antagonist was and overall he is pretty forgettable. Then, when danger strikes Asgard, the movie really picked up and was pretty fun. The one major problem was Kat Dennings as Darcy. Almost every line of dialogue out of her mouth made me cringe. Before I saw this movie, I didn't understand why everybody was obsessing over Loki. Now that I have seen this movie, I understand the praise he is receiving. The final was also very fun because of all the portals connecting the 9 realms. So although this movie actually put me to sleep TWICE before I had to start the film over and one of the side characters is ungodly annoying, this is definitely not one of Marvel's best. The parts where Thor is joking around or taking names is great. If you think you can handle the first forty minutes of exposition and some annoying side characters, then sure, give it a try, but I know that I won't be watching this film again unless I'm doing a Marvel Marathon!
