Jake Gyllenhaal gives one of the best performances I've ever seen on screen. I will never understand how he was never nominated for an Oscar. He is one of the many reasons why this film feels so fresh. His cold and calculated talk is both engaging and creepy at the same time. He is a type of guy that you kind of wish you were, and yet, the kind of guy that would give you nightmares. He along with Riz Ahmed make a team of videographers who video tape crimes for the news. Now that, by itself is a great concept for a movie and it can lead to some great story elements to explore like ethics and morals, as well as badass chase sequences and almost horror like killer stalking scenes. I'd say this is a great date night movie if you two are looking for something as intriguing as Gone Girl without the relationship destroying questions that soon follow the movie. This movie is intense, intriguing, creepy and jam-packed with a perfect blend of excitement and strangeness. It's a hard movie to explain, but a great one to watch no matter what mood you're in.
