Cowboys & Aliens - Review

I remember seeing the trailer for this film when it came out and I remember my dad saying, "Jeez. What the hell is this?" While I thought the movie looked pretty awesome, the title I'll admit sounded a little dumb. It didn't help much when saw some of the YouTube comments online making fun of the title. I remember one of them saying something along the lines of, "Oh wow! I also can't wait for the sequel, Nazis and Dinosaurs." So I didn't give it a chance in theatres but I decided to watch it with one of my buddies who loves Westerns. Believe it or not, I found this movie to be very enjoyable. This is the perfect example of a "popcorn movie". A movie that shouldn't be taken seriously and has many awesome, exciting, and downright cool action scenes in a classic setting. That's not to say that the movie did not have serious parts, but with a title like "cowboys and aliens" what do you expect?! This is a fun ride worth the price of admission! Don't go into this movie expecting oscar worthy writing or a movie that will change your life. Just go in with an open mind and you'll have a good time.
