Hands down, the best movie to watch with someone you "love". Everything from the characters, their chemistry, the drama is all perfect. Uh oh, there is that word again. "Perfect". Let me explain a little. I love teenage comedies and teenage romance movies, however, many of the romances in them don't seem entirely real. Sure, you still want the boy to get the girl in the end but many times, the romance does seem kind of forced. Two examples that come to mind are the romances in 10 Things I Hate About You and Can't Hardly Wait. In Say Anything..., Lloyd Dobler and Diane Court might just be the best teenage couple on screen because their relationship feels real. It's not all high points, characters talk about how to approach the situation with their friends afterward, and so on. This is how teens and young adults act when they "love" someone. I can speak from experience. After a date, what happens? You tell your boys the next day. You don't call them up on the phone and giggle about it, but you need your bros opinion. Ladies, I know you do this too. So that's why I say this film is perfect. It has, in my eyes, the best teen romance on screen. It also has one of the best music placements in movie history with one of my favourite songs of all time "In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel". This is another movie I would put on the "must watch" list for anybody who has ever been in love. Great film.
