District 9 - Review

I admire this film because it's able to make the audience sympathetic to a gross bug-like alien group. The way the story is introduced is like you are watching it on the news and it slowly shifts into a normal narrative you'd see in any other movie. I drew many comparisons to Nazi Germany and the Jewish Concentration Camps. The humans come into where the aliens live, try to evict them from a camp-like area outside of town and conduct science experiments on them. It also tackles subjects of having a one-sided mindset in political issues and of family and the sense of belonging. You care about the characters and get really invested in the heart-pounding action near the end. If you're a fan of Science Fiction, give this one a shot.
