The Shining - Review

I definitely feel like I need to watch this movie again. Not only because I really liked it, it's because it's one of those movies where it hits you with a giant WTF moment. Now knowing that moment, I want to see it again from that perspective. But talking about the actual film, I really like Stanley Kubrick's direction. I haven't seen enough of his films and he does excellent work here. This film also has me interested in Stephen King. I have never read any of his books and this film definitely had me wanting to know more of his stories. Since this film has been parodied so many times, unfortunately, some of the scares came off as pretty funny. Especially Shelley Duvall's acting. Danny Lloyd as the little kid was definitely freaky with his imaginary friend Tony. I shall be watching this film for Halloweens to come. A great horror film that isn't a gore-fest or an extremely scary movie. Just enough suspense and scares mixed with great direction!
