The Good Dinosaur - Review

The Good Dinosaur is really nice, a warmhearted kids film. Full of everything you are accustomed to seeing in other Disney / Pixar films. Cute looking creatures and a mix of adventure, comedy and a couple really sad moments as well as some intense moments. Unfortunately, it's nothing too new or unique. You've seen this story before in films like the Lion King, Finding Nemo, and films from other animation studios such as Ice Age or Madagascar. This film advertises a cool concept on if the meteor that destroyed the dinosaurs never actually happened. Too bad the film only mentions that and doesn't really follow up on it. I feel like that concept could have had some really interesting and funny ideas. What I do admire about this film are two things. One, the world looks beautiful. The environments look real and some of the landscapes are really nice to look at. I also admire that this film tells filmmakers that you don't need dialogue to convey emotion and drama. I felt myself tearing up at one moment and there was absolutely no talking. Overall, this is another well made animated kids film.
