This was one of my most anticipated movies of 2014 and when I saw it, I was pretty underwhelmed. I was confused by the story and I definitely felt it's length get to me. But over this past year, every time I saw this film on a shelf in a store or as a selection on Netflix, some part of me wanted to give it a second chance. Now a year later, I gave it a second chance and I'm glad I did. What Ridley Scott does best is that his films feel epic. The scale of this world is massive. The acting is great and the set-pieces are gigantic. The story can be a bit tricky to follow in the first act so pay attention or else you'll be scratching your head. The only big problems with this film are that it is too long and the white-washing. You are just waiting for it to end and it takes a long time to get there and yes, the white actors with Egyptian make-up can be a bit distracting but Exodus: Gods and Kings is an epic adventure.
