The first time I ever saw this film was when I was in early high school. High School Musical was still a major hit and being a teenage boy, I wanted nothing to do with it. So seeing a film with Zac Efron in it was not on my immediate to-do list, but to my surprise, this film was actually pretty fun. The premise is one we've seen before. An older man is transported into his younger self and has to learn to interact with the teenagers of a different generation. This time, Chandler Bing turns into Troy Bolton. Yes, Matthew Perry from friends turns into Zac Efron. The jokes actually worked and I loved Zac Efron's best friend who acts as his Uncle in his younger body. He is so awkward and so nerdy, he is just hilarious. Lastly, the relationships in this film are actually believable and have a heart to them. Zac Efron secretly trying to get back together with his wife, which gets some good laughs, and the relationships he helps his kids get through. Overall, is this the best teen movie in the world? No. Is it worth a watch? Yes. For the generation that was born in the early to mid 90's, this film will give you some good laughs.
