Dazed and Confused - Review

With my love of high school films, this one didn't really impress me to be completely honest. It has all the ingredients for a fun teen movie like a band of misfits having fun on the last day of school and the film has a stellar soundtrack with the likes of Aerosmith, War's "Low Rider" and Black Sabbath. But a teen movie is only as good as it's characters and unfortunately, I can't name a single character. I remember Ben Affleck's character because... it's Ben Affleck and I remember Matthew McConaughey because... it's Matthew McConaughey but I don't really remember anybody else. Most of the dialogue in a teen movie consists of gossip and drama so it helps to know who these characters are talking about. Also, it's fun when our heroes misbehave and sometimes do stupid things but here, at least for me, it felt like it was too over the top and in bad taste. Throwing garbage cans at people's houses and bowling balls into people's cars does not make me root for our leads, it makes me say, "What a bunch of idiots!" I know I'm going to get destroyed because of this review but what I saw didn't impress me.
