This is the best break-up movie of all time. If you are going through a break-up, watch this movie. Trust me, it will put you in a better mood instantly. Not only do you have some of the funniest lines coming at you in waves which are all knee-slappers, one of the most likeable protagonists in Jason Segel and a hilarious supporting cast including Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Russell Brand, Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd, Bill Hader, and more, and it takes place in Hawaii. Okay, I know that simply putting a story in a certain setting doesn't automatically mean that the movie is going to be good, but for me, it seems that anytime a movie takes place in a setting that could be a vacation destination, I seem to be in a better mood. Example, Cocktail. You know, that movie with Tom Cruise as a bartender? It's not a very good movie, but it puts you in a good mood because who wouldn't want to hang at a bar in a resort in Jamaica all day long? I'm getting sidetracked. This movie is in my top five favourite comedies of all time. Not only are the jokes perfectly ridiculous and crude, but it tackles a subject matter that almost all of us know all too well break-ups. Knowing that this is a comedy, Jason Segel (who wrote the script) knew to play up that scenario to the extreme. How would you feel if you were broken up with by a celebrity for another celebrity and you go on a vacation to try to get your mind off things and your ex and their new partner are at that exact same resort?! You probably don't because the chances of that happening are next to impossible. Now, do you have to be going through a break up to enjoy this movie? Not at all. It's just that this film will have some extra weight to it if you are. Whatever the case may be, this is one of, if not the funniest movie I have ever seen. If you are looking for a laugh, then this movie is for you. If you are going through a break-up, grab a bowl of ice cream, snuggle up on the couch and enjoy. This film will put you in a better mood, I promise.
