Bowfinger - Review

This movie is pure genius! One of the funniest films I have ever seen and it is an absolute shame that not many people talk about it. When you talk to people about favourite comedies or funniest films they have ever seen, most of the time films like Step Brothers and Pineapple Express get brought up. Generally just a bunch of Seth Rogen and Will Ferrell movies. While those films can be enjoyable, my perfect comedy is right here (excluding Hot Fuzz). Not only do all the actors give hilarious performances but all the jokes are clever and spot on. A perfect mix of slapstick, dumb humour and excellent ironic satire. A surprisingly original idea and a funny look on Hollywood and how big blockbusters and films, in general, are made. This is probably Steve Martin's funniest role and Eddie Murphy actually plays two roles in this. I won't spoil it for you, but it's hilarious! This film coming up on 20 years old and in my opinion much funnier than the comedies coming out today. If you are ever looking for a movie to watch on a rainy day or a late summer night with a bunch of buddies or looking for a great laugh, then Bowfinger is an excellent choice!
