Sully - Review

For the first time in months, I was excited to go to the movie theatre. This summer wasn't full of giant movies I wanted to see and it was full of very underwhelming movies. Don't get me started on Ghostbusters and Suicide Squad again. Sully marked the first movie I was excited to see for the fall movie season. What did I think? It was good, but that's it. Nothing super spectacular or anything ground breaking was done here. Tom Hanks is great as always along with his supporting cast. Although, I'm sorry to say but Laura Linney is kind of annoying. I'm sure that's just me. It was just a very solid, well made movie. Clint Eastwood knows what he is doing in terms of shots, editing, the script etc. The reason why I believe people are liking this movie so much is because one, there hasn't been a good movie in theatres in a while. Two, this is an uplifting story about an american hero. Releasing this film right after the 15th anniversary of 9/11 was genius. A story about a miracle about a plane in New York, this was the perfect story to tell at the perfect time, and Clint Eastwood told it well.
