Forrest Gump - Review

We have all heard or seen times where a film is beloved by so many that it eventually gets a backlash. People feel like they have to dislike it because so many people love it. I'm guilty of this same action with Guardians of the Galaxy, although I've come back around to realize how fun that picture is. What I'm getting at is that lots of people nowadays often dismiss Forrest Gump for being cheesy, overly dramatic and overall not as good as people say it is. Going back years later, I can honestly say that these people are wrong. Forrest Gump is a damn near perfect movie and I will debate anyone who says otherwise. If I debate you and you still don't like it, then that's fine. You are entitled to your own opinion, however, I will forever doubt your future film recommendations to me. That aside, Tom Hanks is perfect! He completely transforms into one of the most lovable movie characters in cinematic history. The accent, the mannerisms, the emotion, Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump is some of the best acting on screen! That is only one of the many things this film has going for it. Now I could go on about how this film's story is a great time capsule for American History and Forrest Gump our perfect fish-out-of-water to take us along the journey or how the soundtrack is just packed with classics, but what this film really excels with is its message. Life can take you on crazy journeys. Is it destiny? Do we control our destiny or is it all pre-planned? We may never know the answers, but life will always send us to crazy places.
