The Princess Bride - Review

Okay, I had my entire review written out for this film and my computer decided to erase what I wrote. So since I am not entirely in the best mood, I will keep this review short. Many people are not going to like me when I say that I like The Princess Bride. Why? Because everyone I know who has seen this movie claim it to be a classic masterpiece. I don't see it as so what so ever. I see it as a fun film paying homage to old medieval fairytale adventure stories with swordfights, princesses, castles, giants, etc. It is entertaining, I give the film that, however, I don't really understand why people enjoy this film as much as they do. Was it because all the kids born in the 1980s grew up with this movie? Who knows. What I like about this movie is that the characters act like they know they are in a children's book. The way they talk and interact with each other feels like they are performing for a child audience looking up at them in wonderment. Overall, this is an enjoyable movie. I don't see it as a masterpiece like everyone else does. Don't shoot me!
