Wow. This is one that BOTH the critics AND the fans will disagree with me on. I will say this, The King's Speech is a good movie. In fact, a really good movie. It has great acting, great set design, a great script, everything about it is good... but it's that "kind" of good where you know that everything is well executed, but you're bored while watching it. I was checking my watch many times in this film. Which is a shame because I really wanted to like this film. British War Dramas might just be a hit and miss for me. Imitation Game was a hit while the King's Speech was a miss. Although I thought it was rather dry, many people love this movie, including those who voted it to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards. If you are a fan of 1930's period pieces, especially where all the characters are posh, British ladies and gentlemen with manners with quite the perfection, then this movie is for you.
