Baby Driver - Review

Oh, my goodness. This movie gave me two new things. One, it gave me my new favourite movie of 2017, just passing Wonder Woman, and two, giving me my new celebrity crush. Lily James might just be the most beautiful girl on the planet. Now that that is out of the way, I can now say that Baby Driver is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Yes, it was that freaking good. No movie has been able to dive into my 8-year-old psyche like this since Kingsman: The Secret Service. What do I mean by that? Well, ever since I was just 8 years old, I would have always had ideas for movies in my head and it changed the way I listen to music. I was driving with two of my buddies back from Penticton, British Columbia last week and we were discussing on how we listen to music. They explained why they love Future and Drake and all these new rap artists because they like the beats and how the songs sound. For me, I like a song if I can picture a possible music video or movie scenario in my head. THAT IS WHAT THIS MOVIE IS! Ansel Elgort's "Baby" has headphones in ALL THE TIME! Sounds like me in high school trying to drown out all the bullies in Grade 9. So naturally, his whole life has a soundtrack. Not only that, but this movie has great music playing almost all the time. For that reason alone, I would recommend it. However, the movie takes it a step further because since "Baby" is always listening to music, all the car chases, and gun shots... ARE ON BEAT TO THE MUSIC! HOW COOL IS THAT! The action is intense, bloody, and is pure awesome. But wait! There's more! You care about the characters in this movie, the script is super tight with lots of setups, payoff moments, the jokes work, the side characters are all great, especially Kevin Spacey, ah I can't stop raving about this movie! Guys, this movie is amazing! Spectacular! Magnificent! I could go on and on about this movie and how awesome it is, but damn it, just go watch it already! You won't be disappointed!
