Air Force One - Review

First off, I'd like to thank all of those who requested I watch and review this movie. I love talking movies with you guys and I love seeing my fan base expand. Thanks so much. As for the movie, it is really fun! Pure, 90's action cheese. It's cool to see Harrison Ford in an action movie that isn't Indiana Jones or Star Wars. Right off the bat, the movie this reminded me of was Independence Day. That and Air Force One came out within a year of each other, have similar sounding scores, similar looking CGI (some parts are laughable), and lots of United States political personnel in a board room talking on an intercom and discussing what to do next. Quite frankly, I love it all. Bring on that hectic, fast-paced gun battles on the plane and bring on that over-the-top Gary Oldman performance. Other than that, this movie is pretty straight forward. If you have ever seen an action movie before, especially one from the 90's, you know exactly what you are going to get. However, the film still manages to create an atmosphere of intrigue. I honestly didn't know how Harrison and his crew were going to escape. When a standard plot can still keep you guessing, that's a good sign. Overall, just a very well made action movie. That's all there is to it. If you like movies like True Lies, The Rock, or any other 90's action movies, give this one a shot!
