Kingsman: The Golden Circle - Review

The whole reason I watch movies and spend money at the movie theatre is to sit down, relax, be entertained and have a great time. Kingsman: The Golden Circle reminds me of why I love movies so much. As soon as this film starts, it begins with an action scene with Prince's "Let's Go Crazy" blasting. As soon as Eggsy did a particular stunt along with the guitar solo in that song, I knew that I would love this movie. I love when movies throw in awesome songs in moments like that. Why do you think I loved Baby Driver so much? Now, is it better than the first one? I don't think so. It's hard to top perfection. However, this film is just as entertaining, funny, action-packed and exciting as the first. It made some questionable decisions I'll give it that. Giving certain characters no screen time, putting in scenes solely because similar scenes were in the previous movie, and the plot is not as interesting as the first, but it doesn't bog down the overall story. Taron Edgerton is still as fantastic as always along with Mark Strong, Colin Firth, and some nice additions with Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, and Jeff Bridges. Julianne Moore plays a fun villain, however, I don't think any villain these films will have can ever top Samuel L. Jackson in the first. Matthew Vaughn gives us more crazy action sequences, more R-rated hilarity, and to be honest, a film with a very epic musical score. Kingsman: The Golden Circle along with the first one has that "it" factor that I can't really describe, but both films have it. Other films have great action, great comedy and super likable characters also, but there is something about these movies that just draws me to them. Maybe it's the "I can't believe they did that" humour, maybe its the great soundtracks and musical scores, maybe it's solely based on Taron Egerton. All I know is that I love these movies.
