I have seen a few Studio Ghibli films before and have been intrigued by all of them. There is something about them that I find so interesting. Is it the animation style? Maybe. I watched Pokemon growing up and I enjoyed the art style for sure. The stories of all these movies are always extremely imaginative and surprisingly epic. However, until a couple days ago, I didn't see what many say is Studio Ghibli's best film, Spirited Away. Is it good? Yes. It's strange because there were many times I was watching this movie and thought to myself, "That looks gross, weird, disgusting, annoyingly scary" yet, I kept watching. I guess I kept watching because the main girl Chihiro was likable and relatable and the world that this movie creates is so full thought out and incredibly creative. Full of incredibly strange creatures all with their own distinct personalities and unique looks. Chihiro is totally scared of almost everything in this world and so are we. It gives us, the audience a great way to explore this world. I'd say it's like a Japanese version of Alice in Wonderland. To be honest, I don't really have anything else to say about it other than to see for yourself. If you like wacky creatures and strange environments, this movie is for you.
