Right off the bat, I am going to say that you will only like this movie if you are extremely interested in former United States politics, or are very knowledgeable about the JFK assassination. This movie is all about the wife of that president who was shot in killed in Dallas on that terrible day. This movie isn't a movie asking questions like, "How did Lee Harvey Oswald get those shots off from that window?" or if there was any conspiracy related to the shooting, this movie dives into the psyche of a woman who seemed to be queen of the world and it was all taken away by one single bullet. Not only did she lose her husband, but her children lost their father and they would have to move out of the White House. One interesting thing that this film touches upon is how we as people deal with misery. Jackie, at least she is portrayed this way, loved the cameras and loved the attention that came with being the first lady of the United States of America. So when JFK was shot and killed and she no longer could be the first lady anymore, she wanted "more cameras, more horses, more tears." Reaching out for sympathy if you will. This reminds me of people today with social media. If something terrible happens to them, instead of keeping to themselves and actually mourning something, a post on Instagram follows sharing what happened in an attempt for sympathy. Everyone has done it. I've done it. It's interesting to see how this woman acts and reacts through this time of need. A woman so used to having all these wonderful paintings and having concerts in her house with the finest musicians in the country, is now just a widowed mother that fears her legacy will not be remembered. Or, is this just an extremely slow film with nothing happening in it what so ever? If you don't care about the Kennedys or US History, then that is probably the movie you are going to get. If you do find it interesting or are a hardcore Natalie Portman fan, then Jackie is an interesting film dealing with an extremely tough time in one woman's life.
