Wanted - Review

If someone told me to find a film best suited to the phrase "Adrenaline Rush", then Wanted would be that movie. I mean, man is this movie constantly fast and intense and relentless with it's editing and action sequences. Even a guy having a panic attack in his cubicle is shot and edited with such a high level of intensity. Curving bullets, crazy fight choreography and a silly enough premise make this film feel like the imagination of a 12-year-old boy playing with action figures. "Then the guy does a flip with two guns and shots them and then he runs up the wall and..." see what I mean? Imagine hearing a twelve-year-old boy writing an action script and you basically have most of the action set pieces in Wanted. James McAvoy is a great choice for our hero because you believe him as this dorky guy who goes to work every day and hates his job to a crazy badass assassin. Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie both play great mentors to him and give the film a definite boost. I don't think many other actors could pull off some of the crazy dialogue the way that Morgan Freeman does in this movie. I also love how unapologetic it is and how it kind of insults the audience. Yep, this film acknowledges that the people watching this movie are just as lame as James McAvoy's character used to be. You'd think I would hate something like that, but since this film is so intense and crazy, it fits. If your life is seeming pretty lacking excitement lately, pop this sucker into your Blu-Ray player and I guarantee it will be a much-needed dose of adrenaline your life is lacking.
