The House Bunny - Review

Now this movie, is offensive. Like, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Now, as a white, heterosexual, cisgendered male who attended a fairly liberal university, I've been accused of being a misogynist and a problem to society because of my whiteness, heterosexual-ness and cisgendered-ness. I think this movie is pretty offensive. Movies like these are only made to make you laugh, and I get that, but every single movie sends a message to the audience whether intended or not. The story is about a playboy bunny who becomes a house-mother for a university house full of girls that are shy, nerdy, gothic, unattractive or all of the above. Nobody likes them, nobody pays attention to them, and they are the laughing stock of the university... until they dress more slutty. You heard right ladies, if you want hot Chad over there to talk to you, just dress like a skank and he'll come over to you. Yeah... this movie wouldn't be made today. At least they have the goddamn common courtesy to have our main character played by Anna Farris go on a date with Colin Hanks where Anna is acting like a sex object because she thinks that is what guys like but Colin is repulsed by her because she has nothing of value to say. Now, coming out of your shell and being the best version of yourself is something that I strive people to do. I'm doing the best myself to try and better myself in every way possible and I believe that that is a great message for a movie to have, but the way they go about it is pretty politically incorrect. While I actually liked these characters, even how dumb Anna Farris was acting, and I laughed pretty hard at some of the jokes because of how dumb they were, and I was fairly entertained throughout the entire thing, I don't think I am ever going to watch this movie again. It was a fun watch for the first time with a more than questionable message.
