Solo: A Star Wars Story - Review

I knew this day was going to come. Where I would go to see a new Star Wars movie and I would walk out of the theatre confused, flabbergasted, and overall not satisfied. Solo: A Star Wars story has some good elements in it. I love seeing the Star Wars universe on screen so it's always nice to return to that universe and the action sequences were really well executed in terms of the effects, the choreography, the cinematography, editing, it's all there. Alden Ehrenreich also does a pretty good job at young Han Solo. He gets the mannerisms down pretty well and of course, Chewbacca is awesome as always (this might be his best movie). Every other character is just kind of flat. Woody Harrelson and Emilia Clarke both did serviceable jobs and Donald Glover plays a great Lando Calrissian but everyone else was rather boring. Because of that, I really didn't care about what was going on. Not only that, but there were misfirings of comedy everywhere. It just felt kind of flat. That's really all I have to say about it. Some good moments, but the lack of interesting characters and a compelling story make this a lack-luster Star Wars experience.
