Young Guns - Review

I believe everyone has been in this situation before. You have a family member or someone you know that is a generation or two older than you and they recommend a movie from their youth. They mention how awesome it is and how great the cast is and that you need to watch it right now. So you watch it, and you have no idea what they are talking about. This is one of those movies. My best friend's dad told him and me to watch this movie because he grew up with it. I looked at the cast and noticed quite a few names, Emilio Estevez, Keifer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips and Charlie Sheen amongst others and decided to give it a watch. What I got was a movie that held my attention span for 2 hours... and that's it. This movie gave me nothing worth remembering, yet nothing worth forgetting either. I wasn't appalled at anything I saw on screen, and yet nothing blew me away either. I did like Emilio Estevez as the adrenaline junky Billy the Kid and I was sort of invested in the romance between Keifer Sutherland and this Chinese girl, other than that, this movie didn't really give me anything. A few gun battles stand out here and there, but this film was a very mediocre viewing experience.
