The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh - Review

After seeing Christopher Robin in theatres not too long ago, I decided to back to my early childhood with my dear friends, Pooh, Piglett, Eeyore, Tigger, Kanga, Roo, Owl, Gopher and while Rabbit can be annoying sometimes and maybe a bit of a buzzkill, its nice to see him too. I realized after watching the opening song that almost everybody I know, grew up with Winnie the Pooh and that I don't know a single person who doesn't like these characters. Winnie the Pooh is one of the most innocent, cute, welcoming characters in all of film. And that is what this movie is, a time to see these characters. The plot of the movie doesn't really exist. There isn't a beginning, and end with a climax and big life lesson or anything like that, it's more of a journey through the lives of everyone in the hundred acre wood through the course of a couple seasons and seeing the shenanigans that ensue. Pooh getting stuck in the hole to Rabbit's house, getting chased by bees for taking honey, Tigger and Rabbit getting lost in the woods, owl's house falling down, etc. No real flowing narrative, but it's just so nice to see these characters and get to know them. This is the perfect movie to show your kids because I really do think that this was my first interaction with the thought of friendship. I mean, I don't remember the first time I saw this movie, but I do remember having a stuffed Tigger animal that I was in love with. He was always my favourite. Constantly wanting to bounce and have fun. That's why it was so nice coming back to this movie after all these years. It's like going to a reunion and seeing all your pals again. If you haven't seen this movie before or didn't grow up with Winnie The Pooh, well, I'm sorry for your lack of childhood. However, if you did watch this film as a kid, it's a treat to go back. I promise.
