The Gentlemen - Review

This movie was surprisingly brilliant! Most gangster films that don't do well, in my eyes, fail in two aspects. One, there are too many moving parts with character relationships and story elements that are too hard to juggle and keep track of. And two, the characters try to act cool, but it just comes across as obnoxious. Luckily, The Gentlemen takes it's time to establish character, story, stakes, wants and motivations and the movie is told as a movie pitch from one character to another making the whole experience much more streamlined. With many twists and turns I did not see coming and with rock solid comedy, The Gentlemen is a sure fire hit! While it is still January, this is my favourite movie of the year!
