Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn

It is hard not to compare this movie to Suicide Squad because that was the first and last time we saw Harley Quinn up until now. But I am glad to say that in the areas where Suicide Squad failed, Birds of Prey succeeded. Especially when it comes to focus, a vision, a streamlined story and a clear cut hero and villain.
Margot Robbie is wonderful as Harley Quinn and the action set-pieces are very well done. However, Ewan McGregor as Black Mask may be a little underdeveloped, and some of the other characters don't get the attention that Harley Quinn does, they are all so goofy and over the top that it fits with the style and vision the director had in mind.
Does it push a feminist agenda? Perhaps, but it was nowhere as distracting or pretentious as Captain Marvel or Ghostbusters.
Either way, a fun little comic book movie. Bring us more stylized movies like this Hollywood!
