On Her Majesty's Secret Service - Review

As George Lazenby's first and only Bond movie, On Her Majesty's Secret Service is widely considered one of the best films in the franchise. While I may disagree with that statement, I do have a soft spot for OHMSS. It has the best bond girl of the 60's with Diana Rigg as Tracey, some impressive action sequences with it's fist fights and ski chases, and I like that this film has a romantic overtone to the whole picture with it's love centered plot and score. However, it also has a pretty weak storyline and villain in terms of stakes and menacing presence, some severe pacing issues, and George Lazenby, while looking the part and holding his own in the action sequences, isn't the most charismatic actor and can be quite wooden at points. Plus, he is in disguise for most of the movie and it's another actor's voice which can be very distracting. Nowhere near my favourite Bond movie but it has a unique charm that I enjoy. I have a soft spot for On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
