Beavis and Butthead Do America - Review

When this film started, I was not quite sure if I was going to be able to watch an entire movie with these mouth-breathing idiots with their constant noises. However, this is a movie that fits into a certain category of comedy I like to call, "Smart with a coat of Dumb" The reason why I say that is because on the surface, this movie is extremely stupid, but that is what makes it genius.

This film makes use of the "if you do it enough times, it will be funny" trope. Whether that is Beavis's Cornholio routine, or the fact that the FBI agent will strip search EVERYONE he comes into contact with, while it may not bring out that much laughter at first, you will be so perplexed with how many times the same things happen that you have no choice but to laugh.

Beavis and Butthead also have no remorse, no care, and no clue what the hell is happening around them or how the world actually operates. With their extremely low IQ, their stupidity takes them on a wild journey which lead to larger, larger and larger ramifications. Two metalhead degenerates looking for a TV ends up involving a biological weapon and a man hunt across the United States, and they have no freaking idea. Great stuff.

The animation style, straight up, is terrible. It looks extremely cheap and is not animated with the detail you would find in a Dreamworks or Disney film, but for Beavis and Butthead, the animation style is absolutely perfect because it matches their IQ. If this film had been done in beautiful Pixar 3D or even have the same level of animation of Beauty and the Beast, it would not be funny. The lack of effort in the animation completely fits with the characters of Beavis and Butthead.

Need something to cheer you up, look no further!
