The Living Daylights - Review

The Living Daylights was a nice update that the franchise deserved. Gone were the days of the over the top silly humour and back were the days of double-crossings, intrigue, action set pieces with weight, and a story that kept you invested with twists and turns. And at the forefront, is a 007 with Timothy Dalton. Sure, he may not have that comedic charm that all the other bond actors had, but he brought it back to the roots of the character in the Fleming novels. A ruthless, relentless, blunt instrument of governmnet that while human, would stop at nothing to get the job done for Queen and country. And while not a ladies man like Moore, his relationship with Kara Milovy, this film's bond girl, was very strong and believable. Add in the car, the suit, the gadgets, exotic locations, a story harkening back to From Russia With Love with a well rounded but still gorgeous Bond girl, The Living Daylights is one of my favourite entires in the series!
