The Young Offenders was a film that my mom would not stop talking about as it is a comedy about her hometown of Cork, Ireland. Although I needed subtitles, this was a cute movie. Nothing too extravagant or worth losing your mind over, but everything is here for an enjoyable movie. You have two likeable and relatable characters with a bond that is the emotional heart of the movie, a silly plan that warrants many funny jokes, and is one of those movies where every single line of dialogue comes into play later on for either a joke or a twist in the story. The Young Offenders has enough cute moments to make you smile, darker moments to sympathize with the characters and funny moments to make you laugh. If you are looking for a cute coming of age story from some place in the world that hasn't had it's fair share of stories told on the big screen, look no further.
